wow. just wow. that's the reaction. at least it should be. and it was pitchforks reaction too, when they chose 'silent shout' to the no 1 album of the year 2006. wow. even though the headline is not from the actual album awarded, it's still one of the songs that i like the most of this prominent band. unfortunately, i have not been lucky enough to be able to see them live, but i hope. i hope.
the first vivid memory i have of the knife is a glimpse of the video to 'pass this on', which i stepped over at some random music channel in my early teens. i got a somehow strange picture of them, you know one of those bands you consider going their own way, but here it was just a sign of strangeness, since they weren't famous by then. of course i hadn't realized their fully potential.
now my picture is totally different. they have developed to be one of my top, if not the top band. the reasons are easy to count. individuality, style, prominent melodies, outstanding landscapes. you know those subtle things that make the difference.
however, i just can't do anything than simply adore karin & olof. just because they do what they want. that's worth a lot. and of course, the music is immensely gorgeous.
